Steve was born and raised in Northeast Ohio to parents David Ischay and Ana Maria Sarmiento de Ischay, and has one sister, Jen Cruz. Steve’s parents met while his father was serving as a US Marine Embassy guard in Lima, Peru. Being half Peruvian Steve has always had a love for the food, music, and colors of Peru and has visited his family in Lima throughout his life, with the
churros on the corner of Av Jose Larco and Av Ernesto Diez Canseco near his mother’s childhood home in Miraflores being a favorite.

 

Following high school Steve joined the US Navy and served for 4 years as a submarine sailor completing 5 patrols on the USS Georgia. After the Navy Steve was recruited by Intel Corp and relocated to Phoenix, AZ where he lived for 10 years prior to returning to Northeast Ohio in 2006. Since returning Steve has continued his career in IT sales and has spent 13 years as a volunteer youth football coach. Steve also served on the Chardon Youth Football Board as both Vice President and President.

 

Steve holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University. Steve is married to Casi Ischay and together they are raising their family of Aidan, Zachary, Natalie, Laina, RJ, and Mason along with their 3 dogs Oreo, Congress, and Paris.
